Product copy drafts
One click on the product screen drafts a description, short description, SEO title and meta description from the data already in your store. Claude is told never to invent specs, and lists the facts your product data is missing.
ShelfTalk is a WooCommerce plugin built on Claude. It drafts descriptions and SEO copy from your own catalogue, answers shopper questions with sources from your store policies, and passes anything it can’t answer to your team. Nothing changes on your store until you approve it.

Thin product pages lose sales and search traffic, and the same shipping, sizing and returns questions arrive every day. ShelfTalk takes the first pass at both, using only what’s already in your store, and leaves you in charge of what goes live.
v0.1.0 available on GitHub · early access openOne click on the product screen drafts a description, short description, SEO title and meta description from the data already in your store. Claude is told never to invent specs, and lists the facts your product data is missing.
Select dozens of products and draft them in one batch through Claude’s Message Batches API, at half the cost of one-by-one requests. Drafts wait for you; nothing is applied automatically.
A question box on product pages answers only from the policy pages you choose and the product’s own details, and shows the pages each answer came from.
Questions your pages don’t cover, order questions and complaints go to your team by email instead of getting a guessed answer.
Every draft shows a preview, character counts and the model used. Approve & apply writes it to the product and fills Yoast SEO or Rank Math when they’re installed.
Every question is logged privately with its outcome and sources, and a usage panel shows this month’s requests and tokens. IP addresses are never stored.
Next on the roadmap: reply drafts for customer and order emails, with the same review-first approach. See the roadmap or read the code.
ShelfTalk is a self-hosted WordPress plugin. It calls Anthropic’s Claude API directly from your store with your own API key, so your product data and shopper questions never pass through our servers.
Add the plugin next to WooCommerce, paste your Anthropic API key and choose the policy pages it may answer from (shipping, returns, FAQ).
Generate copy for one product or a whole selection, and switch on the question box for product pages when you’re ready.
Approve, edit or discard every draft. Questions it can’t answer arrive in your inbox with the product and the shopper’s email.
Product copy comes back as structured fields — description, short description, SEO title, meta description and missing facts — validated against a strict schema.
Whole-catalogue drafts run asynchronously at 50% of standard prices; WP-Cron collects the results and saves them as drafts.
Shopper answers are grounded in your policy pages and product details, and point back to the pages they came from.
Policy text that every question shares is cached between questions, cutting cost and response time.

SamiWeb is a bootstrapped software company founded by Muhammad Sami. Before ShelfTalk, we built WordPress sites, WooCommerce stores, custom plugins and web apps for businesses in the USA, Canada, Australia and Europe — and that client work still funds product development.
Building stores showed us where owners lose the most time: writing product pages and answering the same questions. ShelfTalk combines that hands-on WooCommerce experience with a background in applied AI research, and it’s built in the open on GitHub.

About ShelfTalk, your data, and working with SamiWeb.
ShelfTalk is a WooCommerce plugin built on Claude, Anthropic's AI models. It drafts product descriptions and SEO copy from your own catalogue, answers shopper questions on product pages with sources from your store policies, and passes anything it can't answer to your team. Nothing changes on your store until you approve it.
Version 0.1.0 is open source on GitHub and works end to end in testing, but it hasn't yet run on a live store. We're starting a private beta with the first WooCommerce stores: request early access by email and we'll help you set it up. Until then, please try it on a staging site rather than your live shop.
No. Drafts are saved next to the product and only applied when you click Approve, one by one or as a bulk action you choose. Shopper questions it can't answer from your pages are emailed to your team instead of being guessed.
Only what each job needs: product data and your store voice for drafts, and your chosen policy pages, the product's details and the shopper's question for answers. Requests go directly from your store to Anthropic's API with your own key, so we never receive your data. Per Anthropic's API data-retention policy, retained data is never used for model training without your express permission.
Yes, in v0.1 you use your own key from the Claude Console and pay Anthropic for usage. ShelfTalk keeps costs down by using Claude Haiku 5.5 for live answers, batching bulk drafts at half price, and caching your store-wide policy text. A hosted plan with usage included is on the roadmap.
The plugin stays free and open source. We plan a paid hosted plan for stores that don't want to manage an API key, with usage included and priority support. Today, SamiWeb's studio work funds development, and we offer paid setup and customisation.
Yes. The SamiWeb studio builds WordPress sites, WooCommerce stores and custom web applications. Most websites take 2–4 weeks and web applications 6–12 weeks, with a fixed-price quote before we start. Message us on WhatsApp or email for a free consultation.
